Breast Health

Breast health is important year-round at Sauk Prairie Healthcare. That’s why we pioneered a program that allows woman to get their annual screening mammogram, stress free.

Walk-In Wednesdays allow women to stop in to Sauk Prairie Hospital every Wednesday, year-round from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with no appointment necessary to get an annual screening mammogram. At Sauk Prairie Healthcare, we make the process as quick and comfortable as possible as we recognize the concerns that come along with screening mammograms. We make the process simple for you because we understand the importance of mammograms. Receiving an annual screening mammogram can detect abnormalities in women who have no obvious signs and symptoms.

Another resource we offer is assistance from our very own Women’s Health Nurse Navigator. She is a hand to hold from the first day abnormality is detected. With a calming presence and extensive background as a registered nurse, her knowledge will help you understand your diagnosis and the next steps to take. She becomes a support system in your life so you can have the best understanding and care possible.

If you are diagnosed with breast cancer, we don’t believe you should go through the journey alone. Bosom Buddies is a support group for those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. At Bosom Buddies, you can chat with others who have, or are, going through a similar journey.
